These are some of my favorite photographs—purposefully rendered observations of the world as I see it. The first few are from Guatemala when I visited for a few days in 2000. That trip helped inspire my appreciation for Latin American culture, and my growing interest in the Spanish language.
The above photographs are from a hotel room in San Salvador, El Salvador. I was traveling solo in a little red pick up truck with Pennsylvania license plates. The room cost $4.00 for the night. It might have been a brothel. It was low 90’s and humid inside, and the mosquitoes were so bad I had to sleep, drenched in sweat, completely covered under a sheet.
